At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:

  1. Identify The Four Basic of Massage Techniques.
  2. Perform four types of massage with its recommended techniques.
  3. Appreciate the effects of the four types of massage techniques.

What we are going to do first is, when i say hand you are going   to do raise your arms.

Second, when i say massage you are going to do is shake your hand,(like this).last, when i say techniques you are going to do aura moves.

 But, Before we go forward to our next lesson, let’s have a short review about our previous topic.

Who can define massage?

What are the two types of massage?

Massage is the method of manipulating body tissue to encourage or to maintain the healthy condition.

Two  types of massage:

Manual Massage means manipulating the tissue with your hands.

Mechanical massage uses devices such as electric, vibrator roller and belts.

 Now, let’s proceed to the next topic.

Okay, class our lesson for today is about type of massage techniques and how to perform the massage techniques.

B.      PRESENTATION
 The four basic massage techniques.

1.       Effleurageis a stroking manipulating done with the flat of hand. It produces a soothing and relaxing effect.

2.       Compression is a movement that forces tissues together (stimulates) by the three stroke.

§  Petrissage involve kneading action.

§  Frictions deep rolling action

§  Vibration continuous shaking action.

3.       Percussion is a striking, hacking or lapping movement.

4.       Joint manipulation  consist of the movement of joint

 

Class, Do you know how to perform the proper massage techniques?

 

Now, I’m going to demonstrate on how to perform the proper massage techniques in hand massage.

Class, please listen and observe while I’m doing the demonstration.

Before we start, sanitize the hands.

Effleurage:

·         Effleurage on arms

Compression:

·         Kneading movement on arm

·         Wringing movement on arm

·         Circular movement in palm

·         Circular movement on wrist

·         Circular movement on back of hand  fingers

Percussion:

·         Tapotement movement

 Joint manipulation:

·         Relaxer movement

·         Joint movement on fingers

·         Rotation of elbow

 

TECHNIQUES

·         Relaxer movement

·         Joint movement on fingers

·         Circular movement in palm

·         Circular movement on wrist

·         Circular movement on back of hand  fingers

·         Effleurage on arms
